Jeff Moore
Co-Founder & Strategic Advisor
Jeff, who served as a U.S. Navy submarine officer for eight years and Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company for six years, is an expert in the field of entrepreneurship with an extensive background founding, running and advising companies and institutions in both domestic and international markets. For two years Jeff ran a $85 million, private equity-funded, early-stage sand mining and processing company for which he tripled capacity and increased quality by 75%. Since 2010 he has been the Executive Director of OU’s Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth (I-CCEW), which provides an interdisciplinary environment for researchers, entrepreneurs and students to collaborate in growing, strengthening and diversifying Oklahoma's economy through the nurturing of technology-based enterprises. In 2021, five years after conceiving the idea of building an Oklahoma-based venture capital firm devoted to funding and guiding promising but capital-challenged Oklahoma-connected startups that could contribute to the state’s economic and jobs growth, Jeff and James Spann founded Boyd Street Ventures.
An avid marathoner, triathlete and ice-climber, Jeff holds a B.A. degree in Economics and B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, an M.S. in Applied Physics from the University of Washington, and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
